A Tradition Continues at the 72nd Citrus Golf Trail Ladies Invitational
One of women’s amateur golf’s longstanding traditions returns to Highlands County this December. The 72nd Citrus Golf Trail Ladies Invitational will take place December 28–31, 2026, at Sun ’N Lake Golf Club in Sebring, bringing another competitive field to the Deer Run Course to close out the year.
Formerly known as the Harder Hall Ladies Invitational, the tournament dates back to 1956 and has welcomed generations of talented female golfers. Its history includes an impressive list of past champions, with names such as Nelly Korda, Joanne Carner, Cristie Kerr, Brittany Lincicome, Morgan Pressel, Stacy Lewis, and Charley Hull among those associated with the event over the years.
Four Days of Competition
The 2026 tournament will feature four days of stroke play at Sun ’N Lake’s Deer Run Course. Competition includes both a Championship Division and Forever 49 Division, welcoming accomplished golfers for a full week of competitive play.
The tournament also awards World Amateur Golf Ranking points, adding another level of significance for players building their competitive resumes. With four rounds to play, consistency will be important from the opening tee shot through the final round on New Year’s Eve.
A Longstanding Golf Tradition
More than 70 years of competition have given the Ladies Invitational a unique place in the area’s golf history. While the tournament has evolved over time, each new field continues a tradition established by the generations of golfers who competed before them.
